Realising Opportunities
Congratulations to twelve of our Year 12 students who have been successful in their application onto the Realising Opportunities Russell Group Universities Mentoring Project 2020/21.
Realising Opportunities (RO) is a unique collaboration of leading, research intensive universities, working together to promote fair access and social mobility of students from groups underrepresented in higher education.
King’s College is our host University, and students will attend two after school events per term at King’s College. These will include academic skills sessions, a National Conference and online mentoring.
Students who take part qualify for enhanced UCAS offers from all Russell Group Universities, this can be two A level grades lower than the standard offer.
Last year St Angela's Year 13 students who took part in this project received UCAS offers (two grades lower than standard) from UCL (for Medicine, Mechanical Engineering and Physics), Birmingham (Physics), Exeter (Marketing), Leeds (Mathematics), Warwick (Biomedical Science) and Birmingham (Economics). There are also Realising Opportunities scholarships available providing financial support to students once they are at University.
